Troubleshooting PDF Print E-mail

The following CD discrepancies were identified after release of Version 1.0 and will be resolved in the next release:

  • Team Building Activities can only be accessed through the Bonus Section in the Navigation Bar
  • When in the Pre-Field Intro:  Ministry Prep section, usse the Navigation Bar to view this meeting
  • When in the Pre-field:  First Steps section, the Support Discovery Bible Study can only be accessed through Quick Links
  • When in the Post-Field section, the Next Steps material must be accessed through the Navigation Bar
  • The "Printer-Friendly Version" link on Becoming Cross-Cultural lesson actually links to Learning About Culture pdf version.  ITo get around this, look for "pre_5_print.pdf" in the Documents folder on the cd.

Troubleshooting the CD

Symptom: A security warning is showing at the top of each screen with a message like:

"To help protect your security, Internet Explorer has restricted this file from showing active content that could access your computer. Click here for options..."

Solution: If using IE, go to "Tools", "Internet Options...", "Advanced" tab, "Security" section, and check the "Allow active content from CDs to run on My Computer". Or, if you prefer, you can click on the yellow shield and allowing content from the CD "temporarily."

Symptom: A security warning pops up one one of the first screens visited that looks like this:

Solution: Check "In the future, do not show this message." and click the "Yes" button. If you have not set your computer to "Allow active content from CDs to run on My Computer", then you may get this message each time you use the Resource CD.

Symptom: The PDF documents are not able to be viewed.

Solution: Download Adobe Reader, free of charge, from:
http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readermain.html

Symptom: The program does not on its own when the CD tray closes.

Solution: View the contents of the CD and double-click on the "index.htm" file. This will take you to the Home screen. Obviously, you were able to open the program since you are reading this, but we thought we'd mention it in case you were going to open the program on another machine.
